When your sweet florist friend asks for help at her daughter’s 1st birthday you jump at the chance!! Leah and I have known Alex, owner of Third & Park, for quite some time now. Before either of us had started our businesses, in fact! So needless to say, she’s a very dear and special friend. Last year her daughter Oliver James was celebrating her 1st birthday and Alex and her husband Justin wanted to make it extra special. Ollie girl was pretty obsessed with birds which became the sweet theme. A first Bird-thday if you will, ha! We helped with the design of the party and it turned out so so cute! We are happy to share it with you today, even though this girl is now 2!! I can’t believe how fast time flies, but this one is too sweet not to share!
Photos by the amazing Alison Bernier

Starting with this cute little invite and welcome sign!! Alex loves neutral colors so this pretty invite in our color scheme from Chelcea Creative was the perfect way to let guests know of the fun ahead!

Chelcea continued the print and cuteness with the welcome sign here!

As guests entered the backyard they were greeted with lots of pretty!

First this beautiful backdrop from Goldie Crew Creative. Using soft neutral tones like blush, white, and a pretty mint green then adding the cute rattan birds was amazing. Next The Pop Shop did her thing adding balloons. Such a sweet moment and the perfect spot to take lots and lots of photos!

Second were these sweet little tables! Sweet Salvage Rentals brought the kid’s furniture including those adorable rattan chairs. We set the table with Jollity & Co’s plates in soft peach and mint tones. Then added white napkins & cups plus bamboo flatware. Clearly Alex had to do the gorgeous flowers for her daughter’s party! They were the perfect pretty and whimsical arrangements in white, Alex’s favorite!

Along with all that table cuteness one of my favorite details were the mini wood bird houses for each little guest. Chelcea created little tags with their names as place cards. A great idea and cute detail.

Without a doubt one of my favorite ways we commemorate a first birthday is a photo sign showing how much baby has grown. It’s amazing how much they change and how fast it goes!

Little guests were also invited to “adopt a bird”, a stuffed one that is!

Next, our coloring and play doh station was ready for little hands to keep busy!! Custom coloring pages by Chelcea were a nice little touch.

Moving on to dessert, everyone’s favorite!

We had the most beautiful cookies by The Lone Pine Designer and the sweetest cupcakes by Not for Breakfast. Alex added the little toppers with cute expressions of Ollie’s face, such a detail!

There’s our girl!!! She is the cutest!!!! Just like her Mama!

We love this family very dearly!!

Even a few flower aunties got in the picture!!

Alison always grabs the best shots of our little birthday babes!

Last but not least is the smash cake! This yummy cake was also made by Not for Breakfast. Ollie wasn’t so sure at first but ended up loving it!

Happy birthday sweet girl! We love you!!!
