A Yummy Mignonette Sauce for Oysters

By July 18, 2025 No Comments

Raise your hand if you’re an oyster lover!! Well I sure am! It’s definitely a thing, either you love them or you hate them and I am definitely a lover. My husband and I both enjoy oysters, especially on special occasions. My mom makes the most delicious mignonette sauce that is perfect to pair with these tasty treats. She tried to replicate the sauce she had in London at a delicious Portuguese restaurant and I think she nailed it!

In addition to the recipe I have a pro tip. Every Friday Whole Foods has oysters half price and they shuck them for you! They send you home with them on ice and they are amazing!! You’re welcome!

Truly, this is a great dish to serve guests and something special to treat them to. Furthermore, it’s very very easy!! Finally, onto the recipe…

Ingredients

1/2 Cup Minced Shallots
1/4 Cup White Vinegar
1/4 Cup Unseasoned Rice Vinegar
1/4 Teaspoon Sugar
1/4 Teaspoon Salt
Dash of Pepper

Step 1

First, peel the shallots and mince them very finely. You can do this by hand or with a food processor. My mom and I usually do it by hand

Step 2

Next, put the shallots in a bowl and add the vinegars along with the sugar and salt. Mix thoroughly. Lastly add the pepper and mix again.

Step 3

Refrigerate before serving. When serving I like to have the mignonette sauce on the side in a small bowl with a small spoon so people can put as much as they desire. It’s great to have lemons handy as well!

You can dress up your oysters like I did here with thyme, it’s pretty and simple!

Moreover, using flowers is always fun! Without a doubt us Beijos ladies love to do that! Your guests will love it too!
