This 5-minute refreshing and pretty blue spirulina coconut smoothie will make you feel like you are in paradise, and it’s packed with superfoods and all the gorgeous beneficial vitamins and minerals your body will dance for. This fruity smoothie has become my summer go-to for breakfast in the morning, filled with detoxifying nutrients from the blue spirulina and lots of yummy fruit like coconut, blueberries, and kiwi, plus chia seeds. It leaves you feeling nourished and refreshed and not leaving that heavy feeling that some breakfast items have. Plus, it takes only 5 minutes to make. So let’s start Summer off feeling great!

A LITTLE HINT ABOUT BLUE SPIRULINA POWDER
It is an excellent source of B vitamins and iron, and manganese. It contains all essential amino acids, making it rich in protein.
BLUE SPIRULINA COCONUT SMOOTHIE
serves: 1 smoothie
W H A T Y A N E E D
1 peeled coconut (optional)
1 large frozen banana
3/4 cup plain, non-fat Greek yogurt
1 tablespoon unsweetened coconut flakes
1 teaspoon spirulina
1 tablespoon chia seeds
1 tablespoon fresh blueberries
3 tablespoons coconut water OR filtered water (use the fresh coconut water out of the coconut if you are using)

Let’s time ourselves here to see how fast this can go! Gather all your ingredients and throw them all in your nifty blender. Press and go! Then once all combined, pour into a fresh peeled coconut or glass, and garnish! I like decorating with fresh coconut meat and fruit and sprinkling chia seeds on top. Super fast and easy, right?
