Since I can remember, the Christmas tree was the main attraction in our house growing up. My mom would spend days and days perfecting and making sure every angle of the tree was picture perfect. You name it, it was on the tree….. lights (even different sizes, and yes they sang and flashed to the music), gorgeous ribbon, fresh and fake flowers, and of course ornaments that made up our childhood scatter perfectly throughout the tree.
Decorating for the holidays, its all about the tree and mantle for me. Here is a look on how greenery and simple strain of white carnation flowers can fill your room with such joy and glee! (and make it smell really good too!)
Mantle Styling… its easy as 1,2,3……
one……….
Choose a focal point to draw your attention to your festive mantle…. I used the inner peace wreath from CB2 (currently sold out) …. you can use whatever fits your style… wreath, mirror, or wall art.
two……….
Group items together……
I used copper and clear paz trees from CB2 at the ends of the mantle
Tip: Using some of the same elements and textures in more then one place ties your room together…. Example, I used glass copper and peace signs on the mantle and throughout the tree…..
three……….
Greenery and lots of it!
The talented and sweetest lady around, Natasha Kolenko made a georgeous
garland made out mainly evergreen fir and seeded eucalyptus
that cascaded down the mantle. I just love how some of the greenery fell in front of the mantle…..

Adding starry string lights give your mantle that festive glow……… I used the Restoration Hardware string lights, but you can find them pretty much anywhere now a days…..
Natasha also used the same greenery and white carnations in the peace sign wreath…. again using the same elements to tie it all in…… so pretty……
I love to incorporate different elements in the tree like leather, feather, metals, clear and colored glass, and fresh flowers, but still keeping within a natural looking theme. I have been collecting peace sign ornaments for a couple years now, so our tree naturally grew into the peace and love tree.
Each year, I seek out those perfect ornaments that will be an awesome addition…… here are some of the gems I got my hands on this year……..
Agate Slice Ornament from Anthropologie
Folkloric Ball in Bronze and Gold at Pigment
Cooper, gold, silver, leather, and glass make up the textures in this tree….
Like Mother, Like Daugher, I put fresh carnation garlands and fake airplants throughout the tree.
adds that extra pretty detail don’t you think……
and my favorite place in the room is this cozy corner….
I LOVE LOVE this greenery dream catcher that Natasha made…. taking everyday objects and making them into a christmas gem is an easy to do decoration that you don’t need to spend an arm and a leg on.
Having a cozy hand made blanket like this beauty is essential to have for the holidays to cuddle up with….. this emerald geometric patterned gem is from Happy Habitat….
You will need to run over to see Karrie’s handmade, yes!! handmade blankets, they are beyond cozy and a great throw to have in any room. Personal owner of a couple now!
Hope this brought you some inspiration for the holidays!
Ps…. don’t forget the essential detail……….
