BEIJOS COCKTAIL | OCTOBER 20,2023

boozin with benefits.

Doesn’t this cocktail scream Halloween? This wicked margarita will be a great conversation piece at your next soiree. It is composed of easy ingredients you may already have at home – fresh citrus, sweetness from agave, and activated charcoal which gives it that spooky mystery look. Over here, we like to do things with a little extra. Add in some cocktail shimmer and a black sugar rim, and this will give you that glittery magic look. And, of course, edible flowers! If you are serving this cocktail at a party, you can display it or serve it on a tray with dried Spanish moss to create a full-on witchy moment for your guests.

WHAT IS ACTIVATED CHARCOAL?

Organic charcoal powder acts as a coloring agent, giving an otherwise classic margarita a deep, dark grey hue. Plus, it detoxifies! It is safe to consume in small amounts. It’s here for aesthetics.

CAN I MAKE THIS AHEAD OF TIME OR IN A BIG BATCH?

YES, you can! If you want to make it ahead of time to serve up individually, I would recommend not adding any ice to it prior, ice obviously will dilute the flavors. Simply, make a big batch and store it in the fridge. Put the mix in something that can have you stir a good amount or even shake it. You will want the activated charcoal and shimmer dust to re-introduce themselves to the rest of the drink. Then add ice to your cups and serve ASAP.
