With everything going on in the world and Mother’s Day coming up this weekend most of us will be spending our time at home. As much as we’ll miss going out to brunch or on a little adventure, I for one am sort of enjoying all of this down time with my family. That’s why when Sarah from Fig & Whiskey sent us this cozy celebration at home we had to feature it!
She shared a special Mama celebration with a few friends at home before this pandemic changed everything. We love how she transformed her home into boho magic for this gathering. She’s sharing all of her tips with us today! Keep scrolling and check out the pretty photos by Pearl & Ash Photography.
From Sarah…
Hi all! It’s Sarah from Fig and Whiskey! I wanted to share a few ideas on how to host an easy and beautiful Mother’s Day celebration from home. We put together this Mother’s Day brunch a few weeks early because, let’s be honest, Mother’s day should be more than once a year (especially this year).
For the palette, we chose bright springy colors like the moss green runner on the table and pink linen napkins to compliment the ombre floral arrangements.
Teal table runners on the kitchen island and counter top made an everyday space feel a little more elevated and added a layer for florals and linens to pop. Color blocking your florals is an easy and impactful way to make your table look pulled together without spending too much time building arrangements.
While nobody likes a sink full of dishes, a sink full of flowers is a different story. We filled our sink with florals that guests took home as gifts along with award ribbons from Yellow Owl Workshop.
For food, we decided to go with a few hand held options, like mini mushroom and brie frittatas and waffle triangles. We also served some treats that felt a little more indulgent: a fruit and granola parfait and a bagel bar (gimme all the carbs).
You can ‘dress up’ a parfait by creating a simple pattern on top using berries and granola that makes breakfast feel a little more elegant. We added some loose herbs and fruit to create an organic feel to the presentation boards and mimosa bar.
You can’t have brunch without bubbles so we chose the glitter bottle champagne from One Hope that donates to children in need which added a little sparkle and felt perfectly perfect for Mother’s day.
Look at all these cute mamas with their babes!! Love that this gathering was between mama friends – can’t wait for more of these soon!!
Thank you again Sarah for sharing this special day with us!
Happy Mother’s Day to all!!!
xx
