A Pink Citrus Glaze Belgian Waffle

By September 28, 2021 No Comments

Do you feel that?!? Yes, it’s crisp air in the wind! So excited the heat will soon come to an end here in the Sacramento area. As much as I love the summer heat, temps over 100 every day all summer long are exhausting. With fall comes all the cozy fall recipes. I have been making waffles lately for the kids in the morning before school and have been playing around with some glazes and syrups to switch it up. Everything citrus is big time in our house, and this blood orange glaze was a hit! Serve it up with homemade waffles or store-bought, and the kids and adults will love it! Plus, it’s super easy and has only a few ingredients!

Let’s do this! Juice one blood orange and pour into a small bowl. Cut up triangles of the remaining blood oranges or whichever citrus you are using. Whisk ½ cup powdered sugar with 2 tablespoons of blood orange juice until completely smooth. It will help if you sift the lumps out of the sugar 1st. Use a whisk to create a smooth glaze. Pour the glaze over the warm waffles, and then place triangle slices of citrus on top. Serve right away, and watch the smiles appear!
