Hi friends! Happy Tuesday!
Today we are taking a peek into how our own Abby Guido turned a small wall space into her work area. Now a days we find that people often just sit on the couch with their laptops and that really is their office space. We often do it as well, but there is just something about being at an actual dedicated space that makes you feel more organized and productive.
Here is what Abby had to say and how she transformed a simple empty wall into her office.

My house is pretty small, three bedrooms and two bathrooms. I had been working on my couch with my laptop for what seems like years. I found myself not as productive as I was when I was at my 9-5 job at an actual desk area. So in comes Kathryn Miller to save the day.
Kathryn is an amazing interior designer based out of Southern California. I had followed her instagram for a long time to get ideas for my own home. We developed a little friendship and we started chatting about creating a space for me to work. We also are in the process of redoing my bedroom which we will show you soon here on the blog! Its so good!
So with extremely limited space, we decided the best place for my office area to go would be in my bedroom. The kids have kinda taken over the rest of the rooms in the house with all their toys! Oh Vey! Our goal was to make the space functional and simple. We started with a small table from Ikea and spray painted it white. Gotta those Ikea hacks!Underneath the table is a little nook area for storage. I used it to display some of my favorite clutches. I kinda have this obsession with clutches so I wanted to have some out that I use daily for easy access. Plus they can be used as decoration as well, like this Little Market envelope clutch that I adore so much. To the right we added a little wooden table, and added more space for my clutches. Also under the table we added a woven black basket for more storage and a stool that I can pull out to sit on while working. The basket is sold out from Urban Outfitters, but here is a similar one. My pillow dealer, Monica from Boho Pillow made a custom cushion for the stool so my tushy will be nice and comfy. How awesome is that fringe! Above the desk we installed two Ikea shelfs . We wanted to fill this space with some artwork and pictures. Adding some succulents and airplants for foliage detail. There is just something about having plants and flowers in your space that makes it come alive. I love to have fresh flowers in my house when possible. It could be as simple as going in your backyard or walking around in your neighborhood to pick some.
The picture on top is of Mick Jagger and Bob Dylan. They were inspiration for my two kid’s names, so when I found this art print I knew I had to get it. This picture was taken by Megan Welker from our getaway to Palm Springs. Air Plant Design Studio has amazing air plants that I used to fill the shelves and vessels with. They have a airplant of the month club which is amazing! Sign me up!
For the workspace we wanted to get it simple to allow room to work on. Meghann Miniello creates these cool monthly and weekly calendars that we attached to a clipboard. I always have a couple notebooks hanging out so I can write down ideas for the blog and events.
There you have it! A pretty little workspace.
xx
