Happy April 1st! Today, we are playing with one of my favorite cocktail combinations- rosé and citrus. There is nothing better than combing sweet sparkling champagne with fresh tangy citrus notes. And it’s only two ingredients, no joke! What is better than grabbing a chilled bottle of rosé out of the fridge, walking outside, and grabbing some fresh kumquat and pink lemons off the tree. It doesn’t get any better than that! If you haven’t had a kumquat yet, you need to try it! We just planted a tree in our backyard and can’t wait to see all those little guys grow and will be snacking away all summer long!

We are getting simple over here today! Sometimes an easy cocktail is ten times better than a complex one. Fill your cocktail glass with ice; this is optional. It makes for a very chilled cocktail, and on these warm days, it’s that extra touch you will love. Fill your glass with rosé, leaving enough room for the fresh citrus; then, put about 3-4 tablespoons of kumquat juice into your glass using a juicer or your hand’s juice. Yes, these little guys are tiny, so this might take a while. But it’s worth it! Tip: I like to store some of our glassware in our garage fridge. I like to garnish with some sliced kumquats and pink lemons for that extra citrus pucker!
