Spotlight – Magnolia Wellness

By January 14, 2019 No Comments

I’ve heard about Magnolia Wellness for some time now through friends.  Everyone I talked to told me how much I would love it and how amazing it was.  I knew I wanted to check it out and the more I looked into it I knew I wanted to share it with our readers.  With the start of a new year we are all on top of our wellness game, wanting to be the best we can be.  Wellness comes in many different shapes and forms and I am always interested in learning about new ways to take care of myself.  Self care is very important, we’ve touched on that subject many times, so why not be open to new ways to do so?

Magnolia Wellness is owned and run by women and specializes in Eastern Medicine.  They offer alternative ways to take care of yourself.  Their motto is “We can’t cure the world’s external chaos, but we can cultivate your inner calm.  We ask.  We listen.  We help”.  Whether it’s your mind or body working against you, they take a holistic approach to promoting your wellness.

Keep reading for our interview with owner Angela Sinnett and for the beautiful photos of this space by Corrie Lynn PhotoHow and when did Magnolia Wellness begin?

Magnolia Wellness started in its physical form in February 2018, but it was a few years in the making.  It was an intuitive calling to create a sacred place where like-minded people could come together in Orange County.  I wanted to inspire and be inspired by the many amazing women and men in this community and do it in an incredibly fun way by offering healing on many levels with a variety of modalities and social events.
Talk to us about Eastern Medicine and why it is so important…

Eastern Medicine is at the forefront of natural healing – it combines energy medicine, plant medicine, science and intuition.  Acupuncture and herbs are one of the oldest forms of energy healing with a 5000 year history but not actually legal in the US until the 1970’s.  Nowadays, almost 50% of people in the United States are struggling with a chronic illness: arthritis, diabetes, auto immune diseases, etc.  Eastern Medicine uses herbal formulas, acupuncture, cupping, gua sha and bodywork to re-balance what the naked eye can’t see.  It offers a healing  that gets to the root of the problem, rather than just offering medicine to treat the symptoms of the disease.
What can a newbie to Magnolia Wellness expect to discover?

An introduction and education to some rad insight for personal growth with incredible women.   A beautiful welcoming space that envelops you with healing energy and the burgeoning curiosity to learn more.
For those who aren’t familiar with Reiki can you tell us what it is and how it helps you?

Reiki is spiritually-guided life force energy.  Sometime it comes through the hands, sometimes it’s part of a meditation, sometimes it’s an opportunity to move what’s held in the chakras.  It is a vast way to release negativity, connect to oneself and replenish the physical, mental and emotional vibration.

Acupuncture has always interested me, what does it help with?

Acupuncture is such a beautiful medicine.  There are many systems in the body that get short-circuited because of stress, diet, lifestyle or other reasons.  Some people start to gain weight, others experience pain, some people develop chronic illness or are just exhausted and don’t know why.  There are signs and symptoms that our bodies hint to us along the way.  An acupuncturists job is to first identify these and then use fine little needles to unlock the imbalances of the body and restore the circuitry.

How did you relate the design of your studio’s interior to your practice?

I was really excited to design a space that inspires ease and serenity both within the practitioners and patients by it’s soft, welcoming and simple aesthetic.  Magnolia Wellness is an energetic barometer – it holds a sacred space to ensure that everyone feels calm and tranquil as they walk through the door, and of course the palo santo and crystals always help!
Talk to us about your amazing team of inspiring women at Magnolia Wellness

The team of women at Magnolia are at the forefront of progressive healing in Orange County.  Many of us are moms, present and supportive, sharing ideas and seeking to inspire others to share their gifts, while doing our best to raise happy, healthy kids along the way.
What is one of your favorite treatments you offer for a busy mom?

As a busy mom of 3 girls, I understand the concept of multitasking all too well.  We created our Girls Night In event for just that reason.  Once a month we offer the ability to experience acupuncture, yoga, reiki, tarot, meditation and artisanal treats for 3 hours of straight up bliss.
You host events for clients at your space, talk to us about those!

Many people heal in different ways so we offer many different options:

Guided Imagery Hypnosis, Raise your Vibration Meditations, Crystal classes, astrology, Reiki, Community Acupuncture and New Moon Manifestations are a few of the many offerings.

So who wants to go with me?!  I can’t wait to experience my first treatment at Magnolia Wellness and learn more about taking care of myself through these amazing alternative ways!

Thanks for sharing with us Angela!!

xx
